Agero
Platform Intelligence for Smarter Driving Solutions
Agero, established in 1972, is a leading provider of driver assistance services. The company has evolved through strategic acquisitions, including ATX Group in 2008 and Swoop, merging into what is now Agero.
Serving over 115 million drivers annually through 8,000 service providers, Agero combines platform intelligence with human solutions, making it the preferred partner of 10 of the top 15 US insurance carriers. Agero's mission is to lead the digitalization of driver assistance services, with a focus on user safety and seamless experiences throughout the driver's journey.
As Agero's network and customer base continued to grow, maintaining a high-quality experience across user types became challenging. The platform needed to serve drivers, providers, and insurance partners, each with its distinct needs, workflows, and expectations.
The system had to support a large number of simultaneous profiles, service categories, and interaction types while remaining intuitive and reliable for every user. However, existing interfaces were not built to scale at this level without sacrificing usability.
Agero needed an experienced product and engineering partner to help modernize its platform; a partner able to bring the interface quality and technical architecture in line with its ambitions as the category leader in digitized roadside assistance.

Capicua joined Agero as a technical and design partner, building and enhancing the platform using React, GraphQL, and Styled Components. React was central to achieving the dynamic, responsive interfaces that users expect across all touchpoints in a modern digital product.
GraphQL provided a robust data layer capable of handling the complexity and scale of Agero's multi-profile, multi-service environment. Styled Components built a well-organized category system that could consistently span the full range of Agero's service offerings.
The technology stack was rounded out by Jest for testing, React Native for mobile development, and Storybook for component documentation. This stack delivered a reliable, well-documented platform that Agero's teams could continue to build on.
- Front-End: React-based front end for intuitive, dynamic interfaces across user types.
- Navigation: Styled Components system for consistent categorization and navigation.
- Data: GraphQL data layer handling multi-profile complexity at scale.
- Mobile: React Native for mobile development.
- Library: Jest testing suite and Storybook component library.

Agero's modernization led to a more coherent, scalable experience for all user types, from drivers requesting roadside assistance to insurance carrier administrators managing service claims. The improved architecture also made future development faster and more reliable.
Our work reinforced Agero's position as the technology-first leader in its category, with a platform capable of handling the demands of serving tens of millions of drivers annually without compromising on the quality of the experience.
Agero continues to invest in platform intelligence as a competitive differentiator, and the technical foundation established through the Capicua partnership remains a core part of how the company delivers on its mission.
