The Self Knowledge Journey Program
The Acton School of Business has been cultivating entrepreneurs for over 15 years with a focus on a never-give-up mindset and insights from successful founders. Unlike traditional business education, Acton emphasizes real-world challenges and equips students with resilient skills.
NGA was created to extend Acton's vision beyond the campus, offering a structured six-week experience that helps users set and achieve meaningful long-term goals. At its core, NGA believes that self-knowledge is essential for effective action and that the journey toward it should be both challenging and rewarding.
Translating the Acton School's rigorous methodology into a digital platform required careful consideration of structure and user experience. The platform had to manage various challenges, quests, and assessments without overwhelming users.
Maintaining user motivation and engagement over a six-week program, without physical instructors or peers for accountability, posed a unique UX challenge. To address this, we developed templates for diverse challenge types that ensured a cohesive visual identity and a clear sense of progress, balancing strategic thinking with design execution.

Capicua tackled NGA as both a design and systems challenge, creating a template system for various activities that maintains visual consistency. The design features a purposeful palette thar reflects the journey and differentiates it from typical wellness apps.
We developed an intuitive progress tracking system that clearly shows users where they stand, the steps completed, and what lies ahead, ensuring motivation through transparency.
