StackSource
Tech-Driven Commercial Real Estate
Commercial real estate financing is a complex process that relies on relationships, often resulting in inefficiencies and misalignments between brokers and lenders. StackSource offers a technology platform that connects brokers and lenders through a matching algorithm tailored to their specific needs and preferences.
Initially an internal tool, StackSource is evolving into a full SaaS product, expanding its matching capabilities to external brokers and lenders, and positioning itself as a marketplace for commercial real estate finance.
StackSource approached Capicua with an existing platform built in Node and React that required thoughtful evolution instead of a complete rebuild. The codebase had grown complex, and transforming it from an internal tool to a scalable SaaS product needed careful architectural adjustments.
Key challenges included implementing a multi-tenant architecture, managing users at scale, and making the codebase more maintainable for new developers, especially in the absence of TypeScript. Additionally, a strategic focus was needed to enhance the product's transition to a market-facing SaaS while preserving user trust and institutional knowledge.

Capicua analyzed the Node and React codebase and developed a modernization strategy that leveraged React's lightweight nature and introduced TypeScript for cleaner, more scalable code. This migration to TypeScript ensures continuity and long-term maintainability.
We established the infrastructure with Google Cloud Platform and GitHub, providing the foundation needed for a SaaS product. This combination of cloud infrastructure and type-safe code positions StackSource for user growth and feature development.
Our approach prioritizes preserving StackSource's identity and institutional knowledge while modernizing the platform. We aim to enhance its repository, balancing technical judgment with product effectiveness.
- Architecture: Node and React architecture optimization.
- Modernization: Codebase analysis and modernization strategy development.
- Migration: TypeScript migration for improved code quality and scalability.
- Integrations: Google Cloud Platform and GitHub stack completion.
- Functionality: SaaS evolution strategy preserving platform identity and functionality

Our modernization work gave StackSource a clearer path to SaaS product maturity. The TypeScript migration is improving code quality and developer experience. At the same time, the Google Cloud Platform foundation provides the scalability infrastructure needed to support a growing user base of brokers and lenders.
The strategic approach of modernizing without starting from scratch preserved the platform's core matching functionality and user trust while opening the door to the feature development that will make StackSource competitive as a market-facing SaaS product.
Today, StackSource has both the technical foundation and the strategic direction to execute its transition from internal tool to commercial platform, with a technology partner who understands both the code and the commercial real estate context it serves.
- Maintenance: TypeScript migration to improve code quality and maintainability
- Scalability: Google Cloud Platform as the foundation for SaaS scalability.
- Identity: Preserved platform identity and functionality through modernization.
- Roadmap: A clear technical roadmap from internal tool to market-facing SaaS.
- Support: Ongoing partnership supporting platform evolution and growth
It can be hard to evolve without losing its soul. With Shaped Clarity™, Capicua blends technical judgment and product thinking to modernize with precision. Let's talk.
