HostedScan is a cybersecurity SaaS platform that has simplified vulnerability scanning and risk management since 2019. With its all-in-one solution for businesses of all sizes, it detects security misconfigurations, identifies vulnerabilities, and ensures compliance with standards like ISO 27001, GDPR, TPN, and SOC 2.
The platform centralizes target imports from major cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, Linode, and DigitalOcean and integrates tools such as OpenVAS, NMAP, and OWASP ZAP for comprehensive security coverage.
Thanks to its powerful security solutions for organizations of all sizes, HostedScan has become a preferred partner for clients, including global brands like Yamaha and leading academic institutions, such as the University of London's Lincoln College.
When Capicua began working with HostedScan, the platform had a solid technical foundation but lacked a consistent visual identity and experience. The web app's UX was failing to reflect the sophistication and reliability expected by enterprise security clients.
Rebranding a security product is complex, as it requires a deep understanding of essential trust signals, such as clarity, precision, and professionalism, to gain client trust regarding their vulnerability data. In this context, a polished design becomes bigger than aesthetics.
The project expanded to include the entire product ecosystem, with edges such as the web application, marketing site, sales collateral, and social media assets. All of these needed to be unified under a coherent brand expression, demanding a disciplined, iterative approach.
Capicua immersed itself in HostedScan's mission to develop design principles for the rebrand. Through an iterative process and collaboration with leadership, we created a comprehensive styleguide that informed all design decisions.
We designed the marketing site, sales decks, social media ads, and the web application. For the web app, we leveraged React's architecture and a fresh UX approach to ensure a clean, fast, and sustainable interface. By balancing business needs, design quality, and engineering feasibility, we worked efficiently without accumulating technical or design debt.
